Feminists’ history of housewives challenged – The Independent (1992)

Feminists’ history of housewives challenged – UK – News – The Independent.

I found this interesting article from 1992. It takes a Gallup survey that showed that 2 out of 3 mothers would have prefered to stay at home than go to work. This is compared to research by Dr Joanna Bourke of Birkbeck College, London, who looked at the attitudes of about 5,000 women from 1860 to 1930.
